Some horses are rescued and have extreme medical or personality issues or are very old and not fit for adoption. Our organization agrees to take them knowing they will stay with us until they pass on. We are committed to giving each one the best quality of life they can have while they are with us.
This is Hope, a 20 year old thoroughbred. Two years ago she was found abandoned and starving in a field, her owners moved away and left her. She has chronic foot problems which require shoes, was evidently bred on a yearly basis which means she has chronic uterine infections which we treat. With all her issues she is difficult to keep weight on but we carry on with grain and supplements to maintain.
Teagan is 21 years old. A long road but we are finally here! I knew she was probably a show pony before she wasn’t. We put a saddle on her today and the old Teagan shined through. We will use her for lessons and camps at the rescue.
Meet Shelear an Arabian. He was an emergency owner surrender due to the owners health. He was loved immensely and we will continue that here.
Meet Maggie TB/Standardbred cross. She was an emergency owner surrender due to the owners health. She was loved immensely and we will continue that here.
